The Soul Ecology Method for Practitioners

From Anam Cara to Holy Friendship: A Practitioner’s Path to Transformational Work

A Two-Hour Professional Training for Coaches, Practitioners, and Therapists Who Facilitate Lasting, Harmonious Change

Why Soul Ecology Changes Everything

In my trainings, I frame ecology as the study of a change’s consequences, ensuring that what you work with your clients to shift in a their life is beneficial, sustainable, and in harmony with their wider system.

The Soul Ecology Method applies this principle to the deepest layers of human transformation:

The client’s inner world (identity, beliefs, values, emotional needs).

The client’s outer world (relationships, roles, environments).

The client’s relational field with you as their practitioner.

I train you to facilitate change that not only “works” in the moment—but thrives in the whole fabric of a client’s life.

Anam Cara Before Holy Friendship

In this model, becoming an Anam Cara—a soul friend—is the prerequisite to becoming a Holy Friend.

  • Anam Cara (John O’Donohue): The practitioner as a sacred companion, creating a space where clients feel utterly seen and known.

  • Holy Friendship (L. Gregory Jones): The practitioner as a wise challenger, calling clients to their fullest potential with courage and love.

Without the deep attunement of Anam Cara, the challenge of Holy Friendship can’t be received as growth—it will be received as threat.

Who This Training Is For

You’ll resonate with this training if you are:

  • A coach ready to move beyond quick wins into life-long client impact.

  • A therapist seeking a cohesive way to integrate deep empathy with transformative challenge.

  • A practitioner committed to ensuring your work harmonizes with every aspect of a client’s life.

What You’ll Experience

A Fresh Framework for Real Transformation

You’ll explore how Anam Cara (soul friendship) and Holy Friendship can transform your coaching or therapy practice, from the way trust is built, to how difficult conversations are navigated, to how courage is sustained over the long term.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this 2-hour experience, you will:

  • Create a “Soul Ally” relationship with your clients that is both deeply compassionate and purposefully challenging.

  • Apply the Human Givens model to identify gaps in clients’ emotional needs and activate their innate resources.

  • Integrate Dilts’ Neurological Levels to work precisely at EACH layer of change—behavior, skills, beliefs, identity, and purpose.

  • Facilitate transformation that sticks by linking their needs and resources with every layer of change.

Why This Matters for Facilitators Like You

“When we enter into a relationship, we want to matter… we want to be visible and important.” — Stan Tatkin

The quality of the practitioner–client relationship determines the depth of change.

This approach transcends technique and becomes a way of being with clients. This workshop gives you the tools, insights, and relational presence to make that happen.
